Steel Deck
Overview
Steel deck is profiled cold-formed sheet steel used as roof deck, non-composite floor deck or composite floor deck and is typically made of coated cold-rolled steel with yield strengths ranging from 33 ksi to 80 ksi. It is typically designed and constructed in accordance with standards developed by the Steel Deck Institute. Steel deck is applicable to a wide range of projects and structural designs due to its availability in various depths and rib spacings, with and without stiffening elements, with and without acoustical material, cellular and non-cellular, and in varying material thicknesses.
